SSDI August 2026 Payment Date: When Your Disability Check Arrives
If you receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), your August 2026 payment will follow the SSA’s standard birthday-based schedule. Unlike SSI, SSDI does not get an early July deposit, so disability beneficiaries should expect their check in August.
SSDI payment schedule for August 2026
The SSA pays SSDI benefits by birth date:
-
Wednesday, August 12: birthdays from the 1st through the 10th.
-
Wednesday, August 19: birthdays from the 11th through the 20th.
-
Wednesday, August 26: birthdays from the 21st through the 31st.
If you started receiving Social Security before May 1997, or if you receive both Social Security and SSI, your payment usually arrives on the 3rd of the month. For August 2026, that means Monday, August 3.

Why SSDI and SSI are not the same
SSDI follows the regular Social Security calendar, while SSI gets shifted earlier when the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday. That’s why SSI recipients get an early July 31 payment for August, but SSDI recipients do not.
What to do before your payment date
-
Check your my Social Security account.
-
Make sure your direct deposit details are current.
-
Watch your bank account on your scheduled Wednesday.
-
If your payment is late, wait three additional mailing days before contacting SSA.
Bottom line
For most SSDI recipients, August 2026 benefits will arrive on August 12, 19, or 26, depending on your birth date. If you’re a pre-1997 beneficiary or receive both SSI and Social Security, your SSDI payment is due August 3.
